Naeemah Hazelle has over 20 years experience working with youth and in youth programme development. Kittitian raised, but Canadian born, Naeemah returned home permanently to St Kitts after completing her first degree at York University in Toronto, and began her career as a high school guidance counsellor and HFLE educator for 11 years. Taking leave to further her studies, Naeemah completed her MSc. in Counselling Psychology with distinction from the University of the West Indies Cave Hill in Barbados; where she used her education and experience to working in juvenile rehabilitation for over 5 years. Making a shift in the last few years to focus on youth development in the NGO Sector.
A psychologist and proud mother of two young men, besides her post as the chair of the Advancement of Children Foundation for the last 6 years, fulfilling the foundation’s mandates on advocacy, capacity building and grant making with a goal of increasing the number of effective and sustainable community based organizations and NGOs in St Kitts and Nevis; she is also Vice Chair of the Caribbean Institute for Women In Leadership St Kitts chapter; and St. Christopher Children’s Home Executive Board, a place of protection and residential safety for children at risk. Naeemah also sits on the Board of Directors for the Kim Collins Foundation, which addresses the holistic development of local athletes to improve their opportunities for international success. Lastly, Naeemah is also a popular outgoing media personality and was showcased as a co-host of St. Kitts’ Visitor Channel for many years, but now act as a correspondent with hosting and producing credits for One Caribbean Television.
